John Keit Kiewicz (Kiwi) passed away on January 6th, 2015 at the age of 44 while riding his motorcycle in Malibu, California just weeks before his 45th birthday.
Kiwi was a photographer, writer, and editor for car magazines and also worked for American Honda. He was an accomplished car guy who could repair, maintain, and tune a car as fast as the supercars he drove. He was a father of three (Noah, Daniella, and baby Connor.) He was an elite level professional "gun for hire" who made world records including driving a Hennessey Venom GT from zero to 300 km/h in 13.63 seconds, smashing the previous record.
Kiwi was born February 1970 in Southern California. He spent his whole life as a young man in Carson City, Nevada. After attending college at the University of Nevada he moved to Los Angeles to take a job at Car Craft Magazine. Success led him to Motor Trend where he was head photo editor. Over the years, he wrote about and drove numerous classic cars, including a Shelby 427 Cobra and a Ferrari Daytona, both from the movie The Gumball Rally, and he collected posters from the movie in many different languages. He also loved Mexican food. Kiwi was always a great friend and car lover.
